CDHC is visiting state communities to prevent hate by building social cohesion and belonging.
Join to Stop Hate State Tour
Preventing hate begins in local communities; by strengthening social connections, we mitigate risk and build safer communities for all. That’s why the CDHC is working with communities, libraries, schools, and organizations across the state to hold events including a screening of the film, “Join or Die” and a community discussion or joining fair.
What is the Join to Stop Hate State Tour?
“Join or Die” features the work of legendary social scientist Robert Putnam, author of “Bowling Alone,” on the critical importance of social connection and its role in protecting our democracy.
Why?
As Putnam says in the film, “Your chances of dying over the next year are cut in half by joining one group.”
When?
The State Tour runs until Spring 2027. Explore our calendar of events to find the next screening!
How Can I Get Involved?
There are multiple ways to Join to Stop Hate! Watch the film - to experience the message; Share the film - to help raise awareness and engage your community to stop hate; and, Host a film screening in your community!
If you are a community organization, business, or municipality who would like to partner with CDHC on a potential screening where you live, follow our Host Interest Form link below.
